"And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well." MARK 16:17-18
THE POISON YOU CAN TRUST.
THE CHEMIST WAR OF PROHIBITION
Question Authority, and Pick Your Poison Wisely
During "The Chemist War of Prohibition 1926 - 1933” legend has it the blue bottle barring the skull & crossbones was the symbol of quality.
…Beneath the streets of Los Angeles, the words echoed throughout alleys: “Question Authority” and "pick your poison wisely.” While the U.S. government in it’s effort to win the war of prohibition poisoned the industrial alcohols to scare its own citizens to giving up illicit drinking and by some estimates killed over 10,000 people, conversely organized crime had it’s own chemist making their own elixirs in obscurity “The good poison.”
The people who became ill and died during this time were the poor or the reckless. Only the rich had the connections and money to afford “the good poison.”
The underground lairs working against the government used only premium banned spirits. Here, beautiful cobalt blue glass “poison” bottles contained the highest quality tonics, which graced the shelves of the upper class “secret society” speakeasies of prohibition — these blue bottles barring the skull and crossbones became a symbol of quality.
Today, Poison Spirits Inc. carries on this tradition.
